Things Folders 1.0

TFIcon
Today the release of Things Folder 1.0 …. finally.
Although there are no new features in this release I decided that it was stable enough to be released as 1.0.
I regret that the quality of icons are still very poor but as mentioned before I don’t have the skill to make icons. And so far nobody has come forth yet with some icons. So if you make cool icons I’ll add them. Otherwise we have to do with these ones.

I also haven’t worked on Things Folders for a couple of months now. And I can’t see myself doing that in the near future.
So unless Things Folders will not work anymore with a future version of Things and I still need Things Folders for myself to work; I doubt I’ll ever work on it again.

Also a note to all the beta users. I found that when you only use one Things application you should be fine. So if you only use the beta delete the current version of Things. Otherwise AppleScript could get confused in what application to use for its data.

A big thanks for all the users who provided feedback and filed bugs! Much appreciated!
It has been fun.

Cheers!

Things Folders 0.9.9.1

TFIcon
Today the release of Things Folder 0.9.9.1. This release contains few bug fixes but most of all extends the beta period. I’ve heard that Things Folders probably won’t work yet with the new Things Beta. And more unfortunately I haven’t received an invitation yet to the beta so I can’t work on it myself. Therefor I can not support the new Things Beta yet. So if you need to use Things Folders don’t upgrade to the Things Cloud Beta yet.
I’ll keep you posted.

Things Folder 0.9.9. & getSatisfaction

TFIcon
Today the release of Things Folder 0.9.9 with some heavy requested features. Like the ability to specify where your active projects should reside. You can now choose between three options. Also the ability not to make a folder when it’s specified with a certain tag. And many more. See the release notes page for full details.

This beta release is valid until the first of september 2011. Expect version 1.0 before that time.

Also I’ve switched to getSatisfaction page for user feedback, questions and ideas. Hopefully it will save me some time when users answers users. And when I don’t have to answer the same questions over and over again. Winking

As always... I hope you like it!

Things Folders 0.9.9 is coming...Wanna test?

Just a simple short message to say that Things Folders 0.9.9 will be coming out shortly.
I’m looking for some people willing to test it. If you want to test it let me know! I’ll send you an alpha build.

New features in 0.9.9. will be:
  • Ability to choose the hierarchy of the folders. You can choose between: Put active projects at the top level, in a projects folder or in it’s area folder.
  • Ability not to make folders with a certain tag
  • Ability to set a time when TF should run instead of run every time the Things database has been changed.
  • Ability to automatically change project names that uses forbidden characters.
  • And offcourse bug fixes.

Stay tuned!

It has been a while

Indeed it has been a while since there was a blog post or update even.
Some have been asking for the status of the projects.
I’m not a full time developer but I found some time to start back developing once a week.
The main focus will be on Things Folders. I’d like to round that up!
So please see the status page of Things Folders to see what I’m working on now.

Cheers!

Things Folders 0.9.8

TFIcon
Well it has been a while since you’ve last heard from me.
But this is again good news. Things Folders 0.9.8 is out with some nice new features and again a new icon.

Like the Today folder. Something I just wanted to have. A nice folder that simply links to all the folders of projects or areas that I’m working on today. According to Things off course. My suggestion is to keep this folder in your favorites for easy access. Also support for Scheduled, Canceled and Recurring projects. So some basic functionality. For a complete list of changes click here.

As always: I hope you like it!

Things Folders 0.9.7

Today a hudge update for Things Folders with a lot of new stuff and many bugs fixed (Release Notes). I know some people who were looking forward to this. So I’m proud to say that the next beta is out: 0.9.7.

Please note that we’re not there yet but it’s a great step forward.
I hope you like it.

Things Folder 0.9.6.2

I’ve got to say that I was overwhelmed with the response to Things Folders. There were many, many responses and I’ve tried my best to answer all off them as best as I could. So obviously many people wanted folders for their projects. Glad you like it!

I’ve been working on getting the first release more stable. That’s why the release of today is 0.9.6.2 and not 0.9.7. Some important bug fixes are in there. Especially for users who have there Things database in dropbox (and there are some!) this release should let you use Things Folders as well.

There is now also a special Release Notes page for Things Folders and a Status page. So you can see what is going on here. If you’ve got feature request let me know!

Also a special thank you for the people who have donated! It’s much appreciated!

One day, two releases

Today the release of a complete new application called Things Folders.
This is again an application that I build for myself and perhaps you like it as well.
When you work with Things as your to do manager I found that everything is organised (your email and todo’s) except your documents. Now I want documents on my computer to be in a simple but good structure that I’m familiar with.
But then I thought I all ready have a structure in my email and todo’s and most of the documents I make or receive could fit in one of my projects or areas. An idea was born and some time later Things Folders was born.
I hope you like it.

Also today the release of Evernote Account Switcher 2.0.
Besides many bug fixes also a couple of new features like naming and auto login. Also the code has been drastically improved. Many thanks to Peter for helping me bug fix this application.
And again I hope you like it!

And for those people waiting for an update on Push. I have been working on it again but can’t say when there will be an update. I’m doing a complete rewrite so it might take a while. The good news is that I’m trying to add many new features! It will be nice.

Cheers!
